Thefts on trucks: more parking and safer is this the solution?

A November 2022 report by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) on cargo thieves statistics shows high activity in the European region. Germany recorded the most flights in Europe, 112 or 25.3%, here is the ranking: Spain 72 or 16.3% United Kingdom 63 or 14.2% Italy 62 or 14.0% France 45 or 10.2% According to further research by TT Club, the most common technique (50% of cases) is to cut the tarp. When the driver stops for a break in an unprotected area, he closes the cab and seeks a well-deserved rest. But it is precisely at this moment, when he falls asleep that the thieves take action and when he wakes up, he discovers that the goods he was transporting are no longer there. The same research also reveals some curious details about the thefts. The thieves mainly operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, while on Sundays (i.e. when the trucks are running less) even the most organized gangs have a rest. The most stolen goods are alcohol and tobacco, consumer products, beverages and food, clothing and consumer electronics. We need to raise the level of safety standards in motorway areas. We need more guarded and well-protected car parks. There is talk of a shortage of drivers but is anyone doing anything to solve the most serious problems?
